Alden Credit Union leads the pack at Pawsome 5k in Belchertown

Dogs are loved. They are important members of our families. But when dog owners are elderly, unemployed, disabled, veterans or single parents, they don’t often have the resources to care for their canine pets properly and they often resort to shelters. Kane’s Krusade is an organization that was founded by Kim George of East Longmeadow in 2011 to keep pet families together, one dog at a time. It offers guidance for feeding, training, tenant advocacy, veterinarian services and neutering. It’s a helpful community service, one that Alden Credit Union supports. Alden Credit Union is proud to sponsor the First Annual Kane’s Pawsome 5K Run and Walk on Saturday, May 11, at 9 a.m. at Alden Credit Union, 175 State Street in Belchertown. All proceeds from the Run/Walk will benefit Kane’s Krusade. President and CEO of Alden Credit Union Adam D. Corcoran said Alden is thrilled to be able to sponsor an event with such a caring mission. “At Alden Credit Union, we are all about community and the families who live here, even the ones with fur and tails. We hope you and your family can join us for Kane’s Pawsome 5k on May 11 to help support the mission of Kane’s Krusade. We look forward to seeing you, your family and your dog at this special community event. It will be an awesome day for all who attend.” Leashed, vaccinated healthy dogs are welcome to join their humans for the run or walk. The event will also include refreshments, vendors, music and kids activities. Registration forms are available online at, where there’s also information about being a vendor or sponsor.
