⚠️ Fraud Alert & Our Commitment to Protecting Your Accounts
We have been notified of an increase in scam calls across Western Massachusetts involving individuals impersonating financial institutions in an attempt to gain access to member accounts. These callers may “spoof” their phone number to make it appear as though the call is coming from Alden Credit Union or another legitimate organization.
At Alden Credit Union, protecting your financial information is a top priority. As fraud tactics continue to evolve, we remain committed to keeping your accounts secure and helping you recognize potential scams.
What You Need to Know
Alden Credit Union will NEVER contact you by phone, text, or email to request:
- Online banking username
- Password
- Verification or one-time passcodes
- Full debit or credit card number
- Any login credentials or sensitive account information
Do NOT provide ANY information to unsolicited callers. Refuse the call and hang up immediately.
Important Reminder About Spoofed Calls
Fraudsters can disguise their phone number to make it look like a legitimate call. Even if the caller ID shows Alden Credit Union, it may not be us.
If you hang up and call us directly using our official number, you can be confident you are speaking with our team.
What to Do if You Receive a Suspicious Call
- Do not engage with the caller
- Hang up immediately
- Contact Alden Credit Union directly at 413-536-0475
- Do not return the call to the number that contacted you
Additional Ways to Protect Yourself

- Do not initiate transactions based on unsolicited requests
- Only log into Online or Mobile Banking through our official website or app
- Monitor your account activity regularly for unauthorized transactions
- Keep your contact information up to date so we can reach you if needed
- Consider enrolling in eStatements to reduce the risk of mail fraud
- Ensure your devices and email accounts are protected with current security software
We continuously monitor accounts for suspicious activity and will reach out if something appears unusual—but we will never ask for sensitive information during that process.
Your security is extremely important to us. If you believe you may have shared information with a scammer or notice any suspicious activity, please contact us immediately.
Thank you for helping us keep your accounts safe.
