Position Overview:

The Universal Service Representative (USR) is a hybrid role combining both teller and member service responsibilities. This position is stationed at a two-person branch and plays a critical part in ensuring smooth daily operations, including opening and closing the branch, handling transactions, maintaining operational standards, and providing exceptional service to members. The role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a low-foot traffic environment.

Primary Accountabilities:

•    Open and close the branch, ensuring all security and operational procedures are followed.
•    Operate a teller drawer accurately and efficiently, processing deposits, withdrawals, and other member transactions.
•    Balance the vault, cash recycler and ATM regularly to ensure accuracy and availability.
•    Answer phone calls and respond to member inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
•    Monitor and respond to online banking messages to support member needs remotely.
•    Open and process new accounts, i.e.: checking, savings, and certificates of deposit (CDs).
•    Maintain familiarity with all facets of IRA products.
•    Perform account research to resolve problems and assist members in balancing accounts.
•    Order checks, ATM, and debit cards as needed.
•    Update member records and perform account maintenance.
•    Verify the identity of persons conducting transactions.
•    Verify authenticity of cash and checks, including endorsements and signatures.
•    Review security alerts for potential fraud or counterfeit items.
•    Adhere to written policies and procedures to minimize losses
•    Promote and cross-sell credit union products and services based on member needs.
•    Support main office staff by assisting with administrative or operational tasks during slower periods.
•    Maintain compliance with all banking regulations and internal policies.
•    Assisting in other duties as required and any other tasks assigned to you.

Knowledge, Skills, Education and Work Experience:

High-school diploma or equivalent required

At least one year of experience in a financial institution preferred.

Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in cash handling and basic math.

Comfortable using computers, banking systems, and digital tools.

Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently in a small team setting.

Ability to stand for extended periods.  

Cash handling and customer service experience required

Ability to work a flexible schedule necessary
